HI I am trying to get GS-B to update but no luck I can find it it in google finance on my computer but FM will not retrieve Tried Yahoo same story

Hi Alan,

Unfortunately, Google seems to be broken now, with all their recent changes. We will have to look into this.

Yahoo doesn't have a GS-B, or at least not under that symbol. You might need to look for it on a different quote server.

Hi,

Actually, the old Google Finance website is still working.
It's here: https://finance.google.com/finance

A search for "GS-B" gives the symbol: NYSE:GS-B

The retrieve works fine with this symbol.

Just select the standard servers: Google or Google (Real-Time), and Google (Historical).

You have to use the symbol "NYSE:GS-B", not "GS-B".

Hi Djobydjoba,

Have you tested retrieving anything from Google. It isn't working from here. I get a message back from Google saying "Sorry... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.". Also, if I try to go to the old Google finance page (https://finance.google.com/finance), I'm re-directed to their new site (https://www.google.com and the Finance tab is selected). I'm just wondering if this message is specific to me somehow, or everyone is getting this?

Hi Mark,

This was still working OK for me yesterday, but today nope. Shame on Google. I'm tired of all of these measures to prevent people to access quotes freely.

Okay, thanks for the info. Yes, it appears Google has really limited this ability. I see no way to even access historical quotes on Google via a web browser anymore. We may have to just eliminate Google from our list of supported quote servers.

The symbol for that preferred stock on Yahoo is GS-PB.
