General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

We are following the morningstar classification of sectors, however most of the European and Asian ETF's in our portfolio cannot be found on morningstar.com. Therefore the sector-distributions cannot be retrieved.
Would it be reasonable to ask to add more morningstar-sector sources soon? Possibly (hopefully) the required code won't differ much from the code that is used to retrieve this data from morningstar.com, but then again, I may be wrong..

Hi Erik,
Do you have a suggestion as to where this information is available for the ETFs in question?

Hi Mark,
These are a few examples of investments that do have (portfolio) data on morningstar.NL, but not on morningstar.com:
ISIN FR0010361683 LU0650958159 LU0951203347 IE00B5WN3467 LU0942195313 NL0010510822
It says " temporarily unavailable" on morningstar.com, but that seems to be a permanent thing..

Hi Erik,
Thanks for the examples/information. It would be good to add more servers for asset/sector retrieval, and expand our coverage. We can consider this in a future update. I would not expect it to be in the immediate future though.

Hi Mark,
Have you ever considered adding more Morningstar servers for importing sector-distributions, e.g. morningstar.nl ? Doing this manually for all the ETF's in our portfolio's is very, very time-consuming, yet very important to keep track of..
I am assuming you're using some sort of screen-scraping method. I checked the source and noticed that the American servers (.com and .ca) are, indeed, (slightly) different from others . However, all the other servers I have checked seem identical in their structure: Germany, France UK, Netherlands... So adding one could serve all.. Then again, I may be wrong..
Thanks & regards,
Erik

Hi Erik,
You are correct, and thanks for the information/research. This is something we can consider adding to a future update.

Hi Mark,
On this same subject, do you think it would be possible to add a separate retrieve symbol / server for asset types and sectors, from the price retrieve server (much as you have added the option of using two separate servers to retrieve current and historical prices)?
I am using WJS for price retrieval, so I am rather stuck on updating asset type and sectors and have to do it manually..
Thanks for the ongoing support,
Cheers,
Matteo

Hi Matteo,
Thanks for the feedback. I agree that would be a good improvement. We can consider it.

Is there any chance this will be implemented soon (retrieving morningstar sectors from other servers than just morningstar.com)? Our portfolio has grown too large to keep doing this manually...
Thanks & regards

Hi Erik,
I can't say for sure at this point. It is something we will consider for a future update. I agree it would be a good improvement.
