Can't find my portfolio

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby bcg63 » Thu Feb 19, 2009 3:21 pm

Hi,

New to this forum, but is seems like it will be a great resource. I am currently taking advantage of the trial version of Fund Manager and am really impressed so far. I created a subportfolio, named it, and I think it was a sub-portfolio under a master portfolio. However, for the life of me I can not find it. When I make a search I can find the individual investments that made up the portfolio, but not the portfolio itself. What did I do wrong or what is wrong? Relieved that I at least have the investments, cause it took days to manually record all the historical transactions.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for trying out Fund Manager. I would suggest opening up the Portfolio Editor, and using this to view all of your sub-portfolios. If you aren't already in the Portfolio Editor, select "View / Portfolio Editor". All of your sub-portfolios are listed on the left. If you have some hierarchical sub-portfolios, you can open them up by clicking on the little '+' sign to the left of the parent sub-portfolio. When you select something on the left, the contents of what you have selected are shown on the right. If you need to add/edit/delete any sub-portfolios you can do that here. You don't need to re-enter any investments/transactions. You can move those investments into any sub-portfolio just by drag/drop if you need to. You might want to read through some of the tutorials/documentation on using the Portfolio Editor:

http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/tutor_ports.html

You will also be able to see all of your investments in the Portfolio Editor, and determine what sub-portfolio you have them in now.
Thanks,
Mark
