Default Cash Account for Sub-portfolio

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby JacobM » Sun Feb 24, 2019 10:22 am

I'm a new user and enjoying the product so far.

I have three Schwab accounts (Joint Brokerage, Rollover IRA, and Roth IRA). I would like to set all three accounts to have one default cash account. Is there a way I can do this?

Thanks,
Jacob

Hi Jacob,

Yes, you can. You can set the default cash account to be any open investment you want. Typically it is a cash investment in that particular account, but if you want you can pick a cash investment from any sub-portfolio. In the sub-portfolio properties of each account, next to the default cash account choice, pick "Show all", and the drop-down will then list all open investments from all sub-portfolios, and you can pick the one you want.

Are you sure you want to do this though? It may not reconcile, unless you set up your accounts, just as they are with Schwab.
Thanks,
Mark
