Too, the "Donut" display is widely spread and It would be cool if it could be an option.

https://www.tempo.io/blog/pie-chartBy switching from pie to donut, you make your chart slightly more readable by prompting your audience to focus on the length of the arcs at the edge of the graph rather than the area or the angles in the middle. It’s still not as straightforward as a bar chart, but it’s an improvement.
Indeed with a Donut chart the eyes can measure the lenght of the inner arcs as well as the outer arcs, so comparing the slices is a bit easier.
Edit: and maybe even the "hole size" (the slice thickness) could be customizable by the user... (hole size = 0 means current pie chart, not donut)
