Transferring shares in kind

Hi Mark,

I am transferring shares in kind from my rollover IRA to my Roth for a Roth conversion. What is the best way to record this.

Hi Ivan,

If you don't care about keeping a historical record in your old sub-portfolio, you can simply move the investments from one sub-portfolio to another.

If you do care about keeping the historical records in the old sub-portfolio, you can use the "Transfer Between" wizard. This will record a transfer out in your old investment, and one transfer in transaction for each open lot you are transferring. To get to this wizard, right mouse click on the source investment, and choose "Investment Data / Transfer Between...".
