Hi alan,
To get an explanation, create a Custom report with the field "ROI Yield (Inception)" and set the ending date to the current date. For any N/A values, you will get an explanation under "Help / Logs / Report Calculation...".
Hi Alan,
I didn't understand? Can you rephrase your question or the problem?
Hi Alan,
Can you tell me the exact message in the log file?
Custom Calculation Log

Hi Alan,
You had at least one time between the beginning/ending yield date range where you didn't own each of these. It is an option on whether you want to calculate yields when you didn't own the item over the whole yield term. See "Options / Yield Interpolation Range... / Only Report ROI Yields When Item is Owned for Entire Yield Term". Press "Help..." in that dialog for a detailed discussion of this option. For example:
This is saying it was trying to calculate the yield from 4/12/18 - 6/17/20, but as of 7/19/19 you didn't own any shares, thus it reported NA. It sounds like you initially bought it on 4/12/18, and probably sold everything on 7/19/19.
Yes, you can make it calculate even if you didn't own it for the whole period. You can either change the yield term to be a different date range, or turn off that option that prevents an ROI from being calculated if you didn't own it over the whole yield term.
Keep in mind if you calculate a yield and didn't own it over the full period, only the time you owned it will be factored in, since ROI is time and money weighted. You can read more about the impacts of this option in the documentation here. In particular, see the section on "Only Report ROI Yields When Item is Owned for Entire Yield Term".
Same problem here
The Yields above the cost value graph all show N.A. except for the gph one, even though I've owned most of them for many years. i.e not showing yields for the interim periods, in my case 3m 6m 1y 3y 5y 10y I did a custom report as suggested and it shows a total yield for each investment I still own for the report period. The log shows a message relating to shares I've disposed of as expected.
Hi amsadl,
If the yields above a graph show NA, you can find the reason for each NA by choosing "Help / Logs / Graph Calculation...".
