Alternate historical symbol length

Hi Mark,

I would like to retrieve this:
https://www.wsj.com/market-data/quotes/index/XX/DOW%20JONES%20GLOBAL/DJUSPM/historical-prices, so the symbol is: index/XX/DOW%JONES%GLOBAL/DJUSPM

That symbol is too long for the Alternate Historical Quote server field (but inserts OK in the main Symbol field).

Should both Symbol fields (main and alternate) not have egal string length capability?

Unfortunately, no. The reason isn't very good, but it has to do with trying to not change file formats when adding this feature. The main symbol is limited to 49 characters, and the alternate symbol is limited to 19.

Hi Mark, I wish the alternate symbol length could be longer in a next update.

Too, It could be useful to add it as an available field for the custom report (it doesn't seem to be available currently).

Okay, thanks for the feedback. You're right, it isn't available in the Custom report. It is in the Portfolio Editor (Alt HQS Symbol).
