Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager
by osinv » Tue Jun 28, 2022 1:32 am
Hi, I have been tracking over 100 mutual funds for the last few years from Morningstar-Funds but price retrieve doesn't seem to work from this source in the last few days. I have decided to change symbols and move to the Financial Times to get updates for my key funds but before I change all of them I wanted to check if anyone is having the same issue from Morningstar and has found a way to sort it out. I have the latest 569 Quote Module Update.
Thank you for your help,
Oscar

Hi Oscar,
Yes, the Morningstar Funds site recently changed, and currently is not working. We will be releasing a fix, but now only funds available on morningstar.com will be available with this server. If you can find your quotes on morningstar.com, then you might want to wait for the update. You can check on the status of all the servers, and get updates when available with "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates...".

We've just released quote module 570 which restores functionality to Morningstar - Funds. This server now only offers mutual fund quotes that you can find on morningstar.com. Use "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates..." to download the updated module.

The Morningstar - Funds server now only works with funds listed on Morningstar.com. If these are UK funds, please use the Morningstar UK server instead.

Mark: No - I tried that. Attached is what I get. I've double-checked the ISIN codes - they are definitely right. Then I tried the Financial Times server - worked perfectly. There's still a problem with Morningstar UK, though. John - Code: Select all

Err, ok, Mark. But it worked quite happily with the ISINs until a few weeks ago. Why has it suddenly changed? Regards John

Hi John,
The Morningstar - Funds server changed. We released an update. Now that server only supports funds listed on Morningstar.com. For other funds you can use the country specific Morningstar server, and enter the symbols as documented on the page I sent.

Ok, Mark, now I understand. Thanks. That's really irritating of Morningstar. Having an ISIN was useful - a common code which everybody understood and listed. Now MS have introduced a proprietary "Fund ID" which only they know, despite the fact that each fund's own page shows the ISIN, but not the Fund ID! I had to paste the ISIN into MS's Search function so it took me to the fund page, then I could copy their Fund ID from the URL... Ridiculous! Thanks again. John
