configure alert through Gmail

Gmail now requires two step authentication since 2022. This might be covered in other posts but couldn't find it.

Can't set alerts to send email for my google mail account from FM using gmail account. Security on google does not allow app non 2 part authentication.

Hi Ray,

You can create an "app specific password" for this. Look here:

From within your "Manage Google Account", click "Security", "2 Step Verification", "App Passwords", and from here you can generate a new "Mail" app.

I was in my Google account last night, before entering this post. Third party app password option has been removed for some time.

Although, for me the instructions appeared a bit out of date, as the actual location of this option moved to the location I mentioned in my last post (under "2 Step Verification", at the bottom). It is still available on my account though. Did you check the location I mentioned?
