Bank of Canada rate symbol and quote server

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby gbenn » Fri Jan 19, 2024 3:30 pm

Just wondering if anyone knows how I can retrieve the Bank of Canada rate so I can create an investment to track this value. The Bank of Canada (https://www.bankofcanada.ca/rates/inter ... est-rates/) has this information. The symbol is V39078. Can the Bank of Canada be added as a quote server so I can retrieve this information? Is there any other way to get this info?
Thx

Hi gbenn,

I'm not sure if this quote is available on any of the quote servers, you'd just have to search. Maybe someone else knows, and can comment...

I did look at this site, and yes, it would be possible to add as a quote server. They also have downloadable prices, so if you did download daily prices to a CSV file you can use the generic price import with the options:

Specify Date: OFF
Specify Symbol: ON (and enter the symbol)
Input Format: YY-MM-DD,NAV
Thanks,
Mark

I downloaded the information as you suggested and this solves my immediate concern. I'll do a manual update of the interest rate as it changes, which is not very often.
Thx Mark
