Tracking US/Emerging Markets/Developed Market

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark,

I currently utilize the generic Investment Type, Asset Type and Sector. I utilize investment goal for tracking recommendation sources (Newletters)

Can you think of a way to also be able to track (and ultimately pie chart/report) portfolio breakdown by Domestic, Developed Markets, Emerging Markets, China etc? It seems like an additional "classification would be needed"?

Hi Ilikemybu,

There are only 3 sets of "categories", and it sounds like you're already using all 3. Yes, adding a 4th would give you this additional flexibility. For now though, the only thing I can suggest is to use sub-portfolios, and put your investments a second time in a parallel set of sub-portfolios. There is no limit to the number or amount of hierarchy you can create with sub-portfolios. It will be more maintenance than the categories, but it is an option if you really want to use it.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark,

I looked at keeping an additional copy of the investments, not crazy about the extra maint.

Maybe a future enhancement :-)
