NVDA split

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark,
NVDA will split 10:1 after the close today. My question is: in order to adjust my NVDA shares for this split, is it enough to record the split in the Investment Data/Split dialog OR do I also have to retrieve some type of transaction from my broker where I will get the extra 9 shares for each share I own? Thank you!

Hi Stefan,

Recording a split transaction is all you need to do. If you manually record the split, make sure you don't accept any transaction that your broker provides when you retrieve transactions, as you don't want to double count. Many times it works better to record the split manually, as your broker will likely just show a buy at a cost of $0 or a transfer in of the additional shares. A split transaction is more accurate/cleaner.
Thanks,
Mark
