Adding in dividends after shares have been sold

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby Gillyches » Thu Jul 25, 2024 1:11 am

I've sold some shares after the ex-dividend date and, thus, removed them from the active portfolio.

Is there any way to log/add in the dividend now I've done that? I don't see a way to do it from the help menu.

Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Hi Gillyches,

Yes, you can still manually record or retrieve the dividend from your broker. You wouldn’t be able to use Yahoo to get the dividend in this case.
Thanks,
Mark

I know how much it is...I'm just not sure how to add it to the 'Income Schedule- Expected' log manually.

Hi Gillyches,

You may not be able to do this if you’ve sold the shares. I’m out of the office until Aug 2. Let me take a closer look when I get back and I’ll try to answer more precisely.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Gillyches,

Yes, I can confirm that when using the "Income From:" of "Income Investment Properties (Expected)" in an Income Summary report, you must own shares for a dividend to be reported. Not sure there is a good workaround for this situation...
Thanks,
Mark
