Hidden Investments in Report

I have created a Custom Report and want to have Hidden Investments not show up in the report. I think I have the correct settings but the hidden investments still show up in the report. I also see that there is an asterisk to the right of the precent figure in my report. Not sure what that is for (ie indicates that it is a hidden investment?).

I have attached a few screenshots for your review. A list of some of the hidden investments that aren't going away, one of the hidden investments settings showing that it is hidden and one of the report preferences with the selection not to show hidden investments (I have tried different combos of these display settings and nothing changes). I am afraid it may be something obvious I am not seeing?? Please advise and thanks.

Hi Bsrr,

In your "Options / Report Preferences... / General" tab, you have on "Display Hidden Investments with Activity". From the online help:

"Any investment that is marked as hidden will still be displayed if there are shares owned or transaction activity in that hidden investment within the report date range(s)."

So, even though your investment is marked hidden, if you have on this option and own shares or have any transactions in the report's date range, it will still be shown. So, check if you own shares during the report date range or have any transactions recorded. Or, turn off that option...

One more clarification - the "Options / Report Preferences/ General Tab / Investment Display section allows you to select "Do Not Display Investments With Zero Share ..."On Ending Report Date". If I choose that option I still see "Hidden Investments" that have Zero shares at the Report End Date shouldn't the "Hidden Investments" that meet that criteria be eliminated from the report output? (If I choose one of the Hidden Investments in the report and look at its Data Register there are currently zero shares). Please advise. Thanks.

Maybe the investment is being displayed because you have on the option "Display Hidden Investments with Activity", and have some transaction in that investment during the report period?

Yes, if you have the "Do Not Display Investments with Zero Share" set to "On Ending Report Date", and that investment has exactly 0 shares on the ending report date it won't be listed, unless you have on the option above and there was a transaction, or you have "View / Hidden Investments/Portfolios" checked.

Do Not Display Investments With Zero Share Balance:
(When the option View / Hidden Investments/Portfolios is checked, all investments are always shown, and this option is ignored. This option is only in meaningful when View / Hidden Investments/Portfolios is un-checked.)
