Portable Version on Mac

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby stevetone » Wed Dec 18, 2024 6:41 am

I am new to MacOS, so this is probably a rookie question.

I understand that FM will run under CrossOver on MacOS.

Does this include the portable version of FM? Since it does not get "installed" in Windows, not sure how to proceed under MacOS CrossOver.

Thank you.

Hi stevetone,

I don't have any experience with crossover, so can't really say, but as long as you can run a Windows program, you should be able to run FM either after installing it, or as a portable version, just making sure you're within the Windows environment.

You might also search this forum for crossover, and it may help.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Steve

I run FM in Crossover for Mac as a Portable version. However note that FM screens does not render well under CrossOver, but it is fully functional.

To accomplish this....

Create a Win64 bottle manually in Crossover. Once created, select the Bottle and then click on the Run Command --> navigate to the FM folder and select FM.EXE. Once selected, click on "Save the Command as a Launcher". Now you should be able to execute FM inside Crossover.

Thank you! I have decided to run it under Parallels instead as I have some other software that does not have a Mac version. It runs great and looks as expected.
