Missing some symbols; how to go back in time to recover

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

I have lost about 8-10 symbols from my portfolios including all of the details that showed the makeup of events since original purchase. I recall that Mark helped over the phone when this same thing happened a couple years ago. Does anyone know the cause of this and i need help from Mark to retrieve this data.

Hi cah1942,

How are you determining they are lost? Did you ever receive any error messages, or close some investments? Can you try turning on "View / Hidden Investments/Portfolios" to see if that helps?
Thanks,
Mark

I did not get any error messages. The first thing i did was open View/Hidden Investments. Found no indication that the missing investments were there. Chuck

You can either re-open the investments or restore from a backup. To open an investment, right click on a sub-portfolio, and choose "Open Investment(s)...". To restore, use "File / Restore..." and pick a *.FMB file from before the problem started. If you open the investment file (*.dat) and get a message about it already being open, then you know it is already there, and maybe you're just not seeing it for some reason.
Thanks,
Mark
