Hi LungDoc,
I see the same problem here. We are investigating...
I received the following Vanguard error code when trying to download transactions on 12-31-2024 ~4:00 CT, as a workaround to not being able to directly use Fund Manager.
Error: At this time, we are unable to download Vanguard account data. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Is there any update on what the situation is with Vanguard and Fund Manager? Don
Hi Don,
Sounds like Vanguard is having some issues... Nothing has changed with the Vanguard/FM interface, it still isn't working. See the status above. I have no new information, and we haven't been contacted by Vanguard yet. If you haven't already, you may be able to help by calling Vanguard and asking them to resolve the issue with Fund Manager. Hopefully this will help spur them to work with us to solve the issue.
Just letting you know the issue still persists.
As a retired programmer I can appreciate the frustration your probably experiencing. Life was so much simpler when software was written and executed using Hollerith cards:) Have a good day! Mike
Hi Mike,
Yes, unfortunately we haven't been able to resolve the issue yet. We've tried everything we can think of, but Vanguard's OFX server is returning a 302 Security Redirect to a valid OFX request from Fund Manager. Unfortunately we have not been able to talk with anyone from Vanguard about this yet despite several support tickets submitted.
Until this gets resolved you can download a QFX file from Vanguard through their website, and import it. See the instructions I posted here:

Mark,
Vanguard's download center isn't functioning properly for me, either. While some of the date options work fine, others fail. I called Vanguard this morning and after wading through the menus and being referred to someone in "investments," ( no route to any "tech support" was available,) a ticket was generated and they took my phone number saying someone would call. Question. If Vanguard's support for OFX has, or is being eliminated, is there another, non OFX download option for Fund Manager in consideration? The Vanguard download center choice is somewhat workable, but we're still left without the ability to reconcile.
Hi PWatson,
What specifically is failing? Are you unable to download the .QFX file from Vanguard's website, or is it a problem of importing? Using Vanguard's Download Center to download a .QFX file is the next best thing after the automatic retrieval, and seems to work fine when I've tested it. Also, the .QFX file does include positions, so you can reconcile with it. In the Reconciliation Wizard choose: Open Financial Exchange File (*.OFX, *.QFX) for the "Reconciliation Statement Source", and then browse to the .QFX file you downloaded.
Mark, it's the date choices that are problematic in Vanguard's download center. 3 months works as expected, but the 18 month and 1 year options fail. The custom date option fails on some choices, Jan 1, 2024 to Dec 31,2024 fails, for example.
Thanks for the detail on reconciling. I didn't know that was there. I will give it a go.
Hi PWatson,
Okay, thanks for the clarification. Yeah, that is something that Vanguard would need to fix.
