Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby hipped1 » Thu Jan 23, 2025 8:10 am

Is there the ability to add Wealthfront to the list in transaction retrieve settings? I was able to setup my accounts at Wealthfront using an aggregator (eMoney Advisor) and connection is able to download positions and transactions. Perhaps the connector mechanism available at Welathfront isn't compatible with Fund Manager but thought I would check.

Thank you!

Hi hipped1,

I see Quicken supports them also, but it appears they aren't using OFX. They may have a separate API that we aren't aware of. If we had someone to talk with at Wealthfront we'd be happy to see what can be done. If you are a customer of theirs, maybe you could ask for them to contact us?
Thanks,
Mark

I will make an inquiry, fingers crossed I get to someone who knows what they are doing.

From Wealthfront support:

While we do want to develop an API for this purpose long term, we don't currently support any direct connections in this fashion. With that said, we do have facilitate read-only access to your account for aggregators when using an app-specific password. However, the aggregator needs to develop support for web scraping our platform in order for this to be possible on their platform.

My read is that there is no direct connection currently available - the aggregator I use must have built their own web scraping program in order to obtain the data.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Thanks for researching that and sharing the results. Web scraping isn't something we'd probably invest resources on at this point, but if they do eventually make an API available, we'd be glad to take a closer look.
Thanks,
Mark
