AUTOMATC DATA BACKUP

Greetings,

I have been looking for a feature that will automatically backup my data (while the program is running) to a thumb drive overnight, but am unable to find one. Since my FM runs 24/7 on a dedicated machine I rarely exit the program or turn off the machine, as a result it rarely gets an automatic external backup. Am I missing a setting or am I approaching the problem the wrong way?

Hi Hudson,

The automatic backup feature in FM does only trigger when exiting the program, so if you don't exit often enough you may prefer to find another option. You could also just backup the data files directly. This would be all the *.dat investment files, plus your *.mm4 portfolio file. You could do that automatically with some sort of backup program/script.
