Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby cain1117 » Sun Nov 08, 2009 6:59 pm

I am using the personal tier of FM on a trial basis as of yesterday.
My download from Scottrade stopped at 505 transactions.
Is there a limit to the number of trades processed by FM?
If not why would it stop downloading before including the
other 1900 transactions?
Maybe Scottrade places limits on this type of access? or??
Thanks for any & all thoughts, ideas, or information.

Hi Greg,

There is no limit on the number of transactions in Fund Manager. Many brokers do however limit the amount of time transactions are available on their OFX server (which is what is being used here). If you look at the transactions, do you have all of the most recent ones, and are only missing the older ones? If so, this is probably what is happening. Different brokers have different amounts of time they'll keep your transactions available. Some are forever, some are 1 or 2 years, and some are as short as 90 days.

If you retrieve transactions & positions, Fund Manager will retrieve all available transactions, and then make an adjustment transaction at the earliest retrieved date to get your current balances correct. You can edit this transaction, or if you have all your data available in some other format, you could import that.
Thanks,
Mark
