Default graph date range

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager graphs.

Postby jb3 » Fri Nov 20, 2009 8:06 am

Is it possible to establish a default date range for all graphs, say the past 12 months, so that every time a graph opens, the graph displays the default range?

Thanks.

Hi jb3,

Yes. Select "View / Dates...", and enter the date range you want. Check the option "Apply Changes to All Open Investments" and "Use Same Dates". Now, all investments will be graphed for this date range.

Please note, graph settings are associated with a particular graph window. If you close a graph window, the settings for that window are gone. If you re-create a new graph window, you will get the default settings.
Thanks,
Mark

Can I change these default settings, so that every time I open a graph window, I see my preferred date range?

Hi jb3,

Sorry, no. A new graph window will set its settings based on this algorithm:

1) If another graph window exists, the new window will be initialized with the same settings as that existing graph window.

2) If there is no existing graph window, the date ranges default to full history.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks again, Mark.

Once I set a graph window to the date range I want, I won't close the window when I open another portfolio. So far as I can see, that maintains the settings I want for the new portfolio.
