importing prices

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby ishcabible » Sun Dec 06, 2009 5:17 am

when i try to import prices i get:

"requesting 40 (43)".
the next line reads "current" and a few symbols.
the third line is "retreive 66.99 per second"
and the screen goes blank in a second or two. no prices are downloaded.

thanks,

joe

Hi Joe,

The number in parenthesis (43) is how many prices have been updated so far. How are you determining that no prices were retrieved? The best place to look is in the Data Register with the "Prices" data type selected. Make sure you are sorting by Date, so the most recent closing prices are on the top of the list.
Thanks,
Mark

when i go to "data register", meaning i hit the button, nothing happens. the button does not work. also "Edit / All Data" is inoperable.

i am using the latest version 9.something. i have not gone to 10.2 yet.

Hi Joe,

Hmm, the Data Register should always open. It does remember its position/size, so maybe it is towards the edge of your screen, mostly off the screen? If you still cannot find the Data Register, please use regedit to check this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Beiley Software\Fund Manager\CurrentVersion\miscprefs

Look at the values beginning with: EAD_W

There should be 5 of them. What numbers does each show? These are the memorized position and maximized/restore status of your Data Register.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Joe,

Okay. This means the coordinates/size are okay. It should open at the top/left of 189, 160, which should be on your screen. If you still are not able to open the Data Register please give us a call tomorrow. We'll connect to you, and see if we can't figure out why you're not seeing the Data Register.
Thanks,
Mark
