I was trying the Alerts feature. I have FM v9.5 Personal Version.
Some issues:

1. I cannot disactivate an alert.
2. If I change the price trigger on the same investment, it counts as another alert. So the number of alerts just keeps going up. I just adjusted the alert price 5 times and the report shows I have 5 active alerts. This is confusing.

So, please let me know how can I disable an active alert and how can I maintain a single alert on one investment while changing the price teh alert is triggered.

Hi Stefan,

It sounds like you are adding new alerts, instead of modifying/deleting existing alerts. You can do this in the Data Register. Select "Edit / All Data..." and set the "Data Type" to "Alerts". Pick an alert, and then choose either "Edit..." or "Delete".
Thanks,
Mark

Wow! That was a super fast answer. Thank you.
I got it now. I am not yet familiar with this interface and the data register concept. I was expecting all the alerts menus under the alert button. But now I got it.

Thank you.

This is a great product, super useful and I really appreciate your work. I used Microsoft Money before, but fell way short of the task of managing a set of investment portfolios.

One more feature I need and I don't kno wif you have this: I need to rebalance my portfolios when an asset gets above a certain percentage of the total portfolio. For instance, if the bonds allocation becomes over 35%, I have to rebalance to make it back to the original 30%. Is there a way which would alert me if a percentage of an asset class hits a certain limit I am setting?

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for the compliment on Fund Manager, glad you're finding it useful.

There is not an "alert" for when your portfolio gets out of balance, but you can run a report to show you your balances, and how out of balance you are, against a target you define. See the "Reports / Rebalance..." report. You can set up "Allocation Targets", and run your portfolio against whatever allocation target you want. Your allocation targets can be based on investment type (stock, bond, etc...), asset type, investment goal, or currency. The Reblance report displays the actual, target, and delta percentages, as well as a delta value for each allocation.
Thanks,
Mark
