Copy Investments facility

Comments, critical feedback, praise, or suggestions for new features.

I have just found the copy investment facility/feature, which means I can copy all of my investments from various sub-portfolios into one folder. It seems all I am copying is the reference to the data so all of the share master data and transactions stay where they are but I can see them in a different view. This is a great facility as I had to create a number of sub-portfolios to make the share buy/sells go to the right accounts, however I manage these shares as a total and so I have created a copy of all shares in a master portfolio.

Whether you intended to do this or not, I do not know but this is a feature you should promote as it gives me the flexibility that I did not know I had.

fantastic

Hi Glenn2,

Glad you found it helpful. Yes, when you 'copy' an investment from one sub-portfolio to another, you are creating another instance of that same investment file. If you modify it in one location, all instances of that investment are updated.
Thanks,
Mark
