Using CUSIP to Retrieve Prices

I have several bond in my portfolio and Fund Manager is not retrieving the prices for those investments.

I have the CUSIP entered from my brokerage statement and the symbol is blank, what am I missing?

I am using Yahoo Historical as my server for my quotes.

Hi George B,

I don't believe Yahoo has bond pricing. You can get current (not historical) bond pricing from the Finra quote server. You must record the CUSIP in the symbol field. The symbol is used for price retrieval for any investment, including bonds. For more info, see our FAQ on retrieving bond prices:

Thanks for your help Mark. Still have one that won't update, it is a tax exempt bond and the retrieve from Finra doesn't pull it. Is there a different server I should be using for tax exempts?

Also the price from FINRA is different that what my brokerage house is telling me, not by much but slightly.

Hi George,

Did you check on FINRA with your web browser to see if you can find the quote for this bond using your web browser? If you can see it with your browser, then make sure you have the same symbol recorded in FM as you need to look it up using your browser on their website. FINRA is the only server I'm aware of offering quotes on bond prices, but you can check the others if you'd like. Links to all the quote servers are available here:
