Banc of America to Merrill Edge Change: Unable to download t

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby surendar jeyadev » Sat Sep 18, 2010 2:05 pm

Dave,

After years of painless life with FM, I am having some difficulty now,
now that Banc of America and Merrill have got together. I now
find that FM is unable to download transactions for our account
even after using the 'Properties' box and changing

1. Broker Name to Merrill Lynch & Co (Note: Our is called a Merrill Edge account and I do not know if that has bearing)
2. Account No to new Merrill Edge Account No
3. Old to new password

It appears to properly contact the site (and perhaps even the account)
as there are no error messages, but there are no transactions visible
in the transaction window.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

thanks
sj

Hi sj,

Since you aren't getting an error, and are successfully getting to the preview transactions window, this means you logged into the OFX server okay, and it knew your account number. Apparently there are no transactions for the date range you requested. Try retrieving again, but set the date range to all dates, and you can temporarily turn off the option to "Skip transactions already in Fund Manager", just to see if you have any transactions on the OFX server at all. Cancel the retrieve at the preview page, so you don't import transactions you already have in Fund Manager.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark (sorry about the name mix up!),

I think FM is doing fine. I downloaded the OFX file and looked
at it. No transactions anywhere even though they are in the
paper statement. A call cleared some of the confusion. Stuff
'lost in transit' apparently!

I suppose that it will all be there next month as I did widen
the time frame to include the last week and transactions
showed up.

thanks
