Importing CSV Price Files

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby asg » Fri Nov 26, 2010 9:31 am

I am evaluating Fund Manager and was trying to import some price histories from CSV files they import except the leading digit of the price/NAV is lost eg
1.25 is imported as 0.25, this appears to affect all prices.

I am using MM/DD/YY, NAV

Can you suggest anything

Hi Andrew,

Does your CSV file really have a space after the comma, and before the price? You specify:

MM/DD/YY, NAV

which would match something like this:

6/25/2010, 1.25

but if your CSV file really looks like this:

6/25/2010,1.25

then you would want to use the format string:

MM/DD/YY,NAV

If that doesn't resolve it, please post a sample line or two from your CSV file.

Another tip is to look at your CSV file in a text editor, like Notepad, instead of Excel. In the text editor you see exactly how the file is formatted.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark.

I had a space where I shouldn't.
