Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby aneilljr » Tue Jan 04, 2011 6:34 am

I received notice that my 1085 shares of MOT reverse split to 135 shares of MMI and 155 shares of MSI. How do I treat this in FM? Need a cookbook type instruction.

Hi aneilljr,

There are probably a couple ways you could record this, but here is a good one:

1) Record a split in your MOT with a ratio of 135 for 1085. Change the name and symbol of your MOT investment to MMI under "Investment Properties...".
2) Record a spin-off in MM1 for 155 shares of MSI. You will need to know how much of the original cost goes towards MMI and how much towards MSI.
Thanks,
Mark

So, how do I post a spin-off of MMI?

Hi aneilljr,

Right mouse click on the parent (MSI), and choose 'Investment Data / Spin-off..." and fill in the information there.
Thanks,
Mark
