Dear Mark,
I am having difficulty with defining a “New” Cash account and having it retrieve all of the transactions and reinvested dividends.
As of 11/01/07, Ameritrade Institutional changed their money market account. The previous account info was downloaded in to an account that I had named Money Market / Symbol: ZZZ00 / Type: Cash / Account Number: xxxxxxxxx / Cusip: 9ZZZZZ001. This account was included as an individual investment in a portfolio.
The old account zero balanced out as it was closed. I went into Investment Properties / Internet Retrieve / Money Market (ZZZ00) and unchecked Retrieve Price. This does stop that account from any further retrieving of prices / transactions.
I attempted to retrieve and update transactions as of the new cash account date of 11/01/07 which does not present me with an option of declaring a new cash account for the Money Market account.
I then created a new investment, Named: Tdam Mm / Symbol: ZTD82 / Type: Cash / Account Number: xxxxxxxxx / Cusip 9ZZZTD828. This account is included as an individual investment in a portfolio. It retrieves only the dividends that paid in the account but not the transactions.
If I start from scratch with creating a brand new portfolio for that account, separate from the existing ones, and retrieve the account transactions it will retrieve all and give me an option of declaring a cash account. It will retrieve transactions and dividends in that money market cash account.
What am I missing in utilizing my existing portfolio to accomplish the switching from the old Money Market account to the new Money Market account?
