More on copying investments

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

I don't really want to beat a dead horse, but I'd really like to be able to do this within Fund Manager - software that I really, really like.

For example, I maintain a simple ladder of treasury bonds, and it would sure be nice to be able to copy a "dropped off" issue to a "new issue" without having to reenter all of the information that's common to all treasury bonds.

This isn't a particularly big deal, because I don't do it that often, but it sure would be nice.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the feedback. I do expect we'll have improvements for this in the next major release. The idea would be to still use the New Investment dialog, but the symbol field will be an optional drop-down, where you could select from a list of already existing investment symbols. If you select from this list it will pre-fill all the other properties of this investment from the one you selected.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark. Of more use to me than this - if I had a say in your development plans!!! - would be better management of TIPS. Now that is a problem that occurs every day. :o

Thanks for the update,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

If you'd like to outline some specific features/improvements that would be helpful. I don't know a lot about TIPS, so feedback on what would be helpful to you would be great.
Thanks,
Mark
