Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby KenBrattlie » Sat Jun 18, 2011 2:15 pm

Hi, I am trying to enter a new investment for a bond investment.
The bond price is 66.629. There is no coupon value or periodic interest paid. The bond is discounted and is paid at face value (100) at time of maturity (7/1/16).

So for example, 150 shares at 66.629 = 9994.35 investment.
Will pay out 15k at maturity.

When I enter this information, the portfolio editor will not show any shares or present value. It shows zero, even though the investment data shows the 150 shares and the value.

I have other bonds entered with no problem.

Any ideas? What am I doing wrong?

Hi KenBrattlie,

The Portfolio Editor window will show the valuation as of the current date (today). Is your computer date set correctly? Is the purchase of the 150 shares recorded on a date on/before today? If you look in the Data Register under the "Prices" data type, what price do you have recorded for today (or Friday), and how many shares does it say you own as of that date?
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks. It was a date problem.
So simple, I couldn't see it!
