Asset Label recovery

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Mark,
My computer crashed and I have been generally successful in recovering all of my FM data to my new computer thanks to Carbonite. However, most of my Asset Labels have lost.

is there any way to recover those missing (13 of the 19 that I am using)?

Also, from an earlier post, I understand they are stored in the Registry here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Beiley Software\Fund Manager\CurrentVersion\Asset Type Labels,

However, I do not see this registry entry when browsing in mine - Is FM now handling Asset Labels differently?

Thanks, Mark

Hi mkulis,

Yes, the asset type labels are still stored in the registry here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Beiley Software\Fund Manager\CurrentVersion\Asset Type Labels

If you were to restore from a backup file (*.FMB) that would also restore all your registry values. If you only restored by copying back all your data files, then that wouldn't restore your registry values. If you have a *.FMB backup you can also choose to only restore the registry values. Otherwise, you can just re-enter those labels under "Options / Category Labels...".
Thanks,
Mark

Restoring from an earlier .FMB worked great, thanks -
