Scottrade option symbols

When I download option transactions from Scottrade the symbol populates as "NOG 111119C00022000". The Yahoo options quote server dosen't like the spaces after the stock symbol. If I edit the spaces out then I'm able to retrieve the price updates.

This is a nuesance to have to edit the properties of every option after it is created (I'm using the automatic creation option).

Am I doing something wrong that is creating these spaces?

Hi Bompa,

You're not doing anything wrong, it is just how Scottrade reports the symbol. You would either have to continue editing the symbol in order to retrieve from a quote server, or you could rely on the feature where you get price updates from your broker. When you do a transaction retrieve, prices are also updated from the broker as part of this retrieve.

AhHa that explains why sometimes prices were updated without editing the spaces out of the symbol.
Knowing that I will quit editing the symbols & use the transaction retrieve to update the prices.
