General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark

My portfolio value chart has a wrong numerical value but the chart shows the exact value. The portfolio gain chart shows the exact numerical value too.

Hi Sam,

Do you mean the legend has a value that is wrong? The legend can be customized, so check what field you are displaying in the legend by choosing "Graphs / Options / Legend Text...". The default legend for the Portfolio Value graph displays the ending portfolio value, and the change from the prior date. If the value is not what you expect, create a portfolio value report for the ending graph date, and take a look at all the investments, to see where things are different than you are expecting.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark

"The default legend for the Portfolio Value graph displays the ending portfolio value, and the change from the prior date. "

Yes and that is the problem, i dosnt.

1. The Ending portfolio value is wrong
2 The change from the prior date does neither agree with the real value nor with the value displayed in the portfolio gain graph.

I may send you a picture

Hi Samuel,

If the ending portfolio value is displayed incorrectly, create a Portfolio Value report for the ending date of your graph. The value of the report should equal the value displayed in the legend. You can then see the breakdown of how this total portfolio value is being calculated, and see where the error is. The listing of all the investments in this portfolio value report will total up to the displayed overall total portfolio value.

Another feature that can cause confusion is that each graph window is assigned an 'active sub-portfolio'. This is shown in the title of that graph window. Make sure you have the active portfolio selected that you're expecting.
Thanks,
Mark
