Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.
by lvs » Fri May 02, 2008 11:17 am
Hello Mark,
I have two questions, please:
1) Is there a way to show individual tax lots for all investments on one custom report? If not on custom, is there a report that does that?
2) Right now, my reports list securities in descending alphabetical order. How can I switch the order to ascending?
Thanks!

Hi lvs,
1) No, not in the custom report. The 'custom' report only lists by investment, symbol, asset type, goal, or investment type. It doesn't list by 'transaction'. For 'closed' lots, you can use one of the "Capital Gains" reports. You can also use the "Investment Transaction" report to view transactions, both closed and open. In version 9 there will be a new "Open Lots" report.
2) See the "Sort" menu. Set it to sort by investment name, and also check off the "Inverse Sort" menu item.

Hi lvs,
There isn't a scheduled release date yet. It is looking like sometime this summer.

"In version 9 there will be a new "Open Lots" report."
Hi Mark,
In another posting you stated Version 9 would have a new "Open Lots" report.
I'm hoping this will be an easy way to view portfolios and see where the short and long term gains and losses are by each investment as a whole and by tax lot.
THANKS!
Bill

Hi Bill,
The new "Open Lots" report will list all your un-sold lots. Each line item is a lot, and associated information. The report has totals, so if you only report on a single investment, you will get the totals for that investment. You can get the investment totals today from a custom report.

Hi Mark,
Is there any way this report (or another one) could allow for the input of tax rates so the net per possible sale was computed too?
Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the feedback. Currently, no, this isn't an option.
