MSSB Online

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hello,

When I try to set up my Morgan Stanley Smith Barney account, I get a message that my account has been moved to MSSB Online, which is correct, but I cannot see it as an option in a list of brokerages for transaction/position retrieval. Are there plans to add MSSB Online or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

Hi taxableted,

Do you maybe need to just update your account number? Try using the broker:

Morgan Stanley Smith Barney

and just update your sub-portfolio's property of "account number" to your new account number.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark, thanks for the quick reply. I just downloaded the trial version and am having trouble setting up/ linking this portfolio I have at MSSB. I am entering new account numbers. I just tried again and was told that I reached my retry limit and that my account has been blocked. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

fyi... just tried again and the retry limit is off, but I still get the message:

"General Error
Your accounts have been converted to MSSB Online"

I press "ok" (the only option) and get:

"Failed to receive portfolio.
Broker: Morgan Stanley Smith Barney
Account: !$%#%
User ID: 2@$%@^

Hi taxableted,

If you log into their website, do they have instructions for retrieving into Quicken? If so, what is the name of the broker they say to choose for retrieval? You should be able to use the same instructions with Fund Manager.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi taxableted,

I found some instructions made by MSSB for using Quicken, and it looks like for MSSB Online you need to choose our server labelled:

Morgan Stanley ClientServ Investments

and use your 9 digit account number.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark, thanks a lot. I think it worked although not sure the right data is being downloaded or that I'm doing everything correctly. But it does connect and I hope I can figure this out. Just starting out to use the software )
