Capital Gains Report: Sort Order

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby sdrowles » Sun Nov 11, 2012 1:33 pm

I have several questions about the Capital Gains Report...

I can see that I can group long or short term gains together, but what is the secondary sort order and how can I change it?

How can I display the stock symbol rather than the company name?

How can I sort the report by stock symbol?

How can I sort the report by date sold?

Hi sdrowles,

As you pointed out, the primary sort is by term when you have on the option "Options / Report Preferences... / Capital Gains / Group Like Terms Together". The secondary sort is then controlled by the top level "Sort" menu. You can sort by any displayed column in this report.

You can list by symbol, instead of name, by using the setting "Options / General Preferences / Display / Investment Description".
Thanks,
Mark
