CUSTOM REPORT Filtering Problem

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby mpozesky » Wed Dec 26, 2012 8:25 am

i have the individual version of the program and have been learning for about a month (it isn't easy but I think it is worth it). I still have not found out how to fiter a customer report by asset type. I have stocks, bonds, ETF's, and Funds. I want to generate a custom report which does NOT include any bonds. I can't seem to find a way to do this. Is this possible with the indidivudal version or do I need a more advanced version?

For example, I go to custom reports, pick a specific sub-poorfolio, ask the program to subtotal by asset type and list by investment but want to exclude bonds in the report. I try to exclude "bonds" in the filter field but there is no such option. I have tried to recategorize my bonds into domestic bonds (to allow the filtering) but there seems no way to do that either. So what do i do???

I hope I am makeing sense, Happy Holidays :(

Hi mpozesky,

Which version number of Fund Manager are you using? We've just recently added the "exclude" filter option into 12.0. If you're using a version earlier than 12.0, please download 12.0 from our website. Once you have 12.0, in the Report Settings dialog, press the "Filter..." button and set it to:

Filter By: Investment Type
Filter Type: Exclude Selected Item
Investment Type: Bond

This will exclude all investments marked as Bonds from your report.
Thanks,
Mark
