Retrieving ^IXIC current price from Yahoo

For a few weeks now the daily retrieval of the current (not historical) value for the Nasdaq Index - ^IXIC from Yahoo is not returning a value. Dow is being retrieved from Bloomberg per last year's recommended approach when this same thing happened. Should I now be retrieving the Nasdaq Index daily price from Bloomberg also?
Hi onlyme,
Looking up ^IXIC on Yahoo it still shows the "Download Data" link, but the downloaded CSV file contains pricing from 12/20/2012. I'm not sure why it has not updated. This is a different situation than the ^DJI which doesn't even show the "Download Data" link. You might want to try and find the replacement symbol on Bloomberg, or you could wait and see if Yahoo fixes this issue. You can still get historical prices from Yahoo (Historical) for this symbol.
Mark,
Thanks for checking. That's exactly the same situation I'm seeing also when my homegrown VB6 program retrieves CSV values for the current price quotes of all the equities and indices I follow. Glad you can confirm it with Fund Manager's retrieval mechanism. I have converted my Fundman daily quote retrieval to Bloomberg until, as you say, Yahoo fixes their issue. Strange that nobody else has reported this situation since 12/20/2012! I'd think that at least one other person is using the Nasdaq as an index for comparison reports in Fund Manager... -- Max
