Import Quicken 2011 portfolio

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Quicken 2011 has two export options consisting of QIF and QXF formats. Import of the QIF data does not include any data for equity holdings. What is necessary to migrate a portfolio from Quick to FM?

Hello GuyBuyLow,

You should be able to transfer all your investments using the QIF file format. Here are some tips from the online help on creating the QIF file from Quicken:

Usage Tip: If you want to transfer all your data from Quicken, export "<All Accounts>", and do the export with "Transactions", "Account List", and "Security Lists" checked for export. From within Fund Manager import this file with the options turned on that allows the creation of sub-portfolios and new investments as needed. Any closing prices in your .QIF file(s) will also be imported.

If you're still not able to get all your investment data transferred you might want to open up your QIF file in a text editor, like Notepad, and double check you see signs of your intended investments. A QIF file is just a text file that can be viewed with any text editor, like Notepad.
Thanks,
Mark
