Hi Mark,
I'm surely not the first person with this question, but a long search of the FM site has not found the answer.
I've used FM for about 13 years, through several versions. Now version 12, Windows 7.
I have finally set up one portfolio with sub-portfolios for different accounts. Works fine.
The problem? Over the years I've accumulated several .dat files for the same investment, even if the investment is included in only one sub-portfolio.
For example: TD.dat; TD_1.dat;TD_2.dat.
Only one of these is the "real" one. I'd like to delete the other two to tidy up my FM folder. There are hundreds of these so I need a batch method.
I want to retain the .dat files for investments that were sold long ago and are now hidden.
I can save the .mm4 file to a temp location, wipe out the unwanted .mm4's then move the good one back, but I can't find a way to do a batch move of the .dat files that are in my one good portfolio to a temp location for the same procedure.
HELP!!
Thanks
