Hi Costas,
You are correct, the line graphs all display with a daily resolution. The weekly moving averages are a rolling moving average, with a daily resolution. For example, consider a 1 week moving average: The data point plotted at point number 5, is the average of days 1-5. The data point plotted on point number 6 is the average of days 2-6.
Mark two other points ..
Wanted to upload an image for you to see the problem ...but could not see how to do it this ... With words ...why is the share price displayed as (nearly) a flat line because of the large numbers used in the vertical axis scaling.. why is not the auto scaling correcting this ? In case of a price split (security CARMPAT:FP) why the Bloomberg downloaded prices do not adjust accordingly so that the graph displays correctly... on Bloomberg itself the price graph is shown correctly,,, Thanks C
Hi Costas,
To upload an image with a post, click on the "Upload attachment" tab down below. Click the "Choose File" button to browse to the file you want to add. After it is listed, press the "Add the file" button. It sounds like you may have some prices recorded that are causing the large scale. Look on the graph, and see where the line is changing, so you can see when the data is recorded that is causing the large scale. Look in the Data Register under the "Prices" data type to see your recorded data. The other possibility is that one or more of your markers are causing the scale to be large. You can also view your recorded transactions to correct whatever is causing this. I retrieved CARMPAT:FP from Bloomberg for the past 5 years, and didn't see any problem due to price split. It plotted starting near 420, and ended near 560, just as it does on the Bloomberg website. What is the date you're seeing the problem on?
Hi Costas,
Perhaps you have not ticked "Split Adjusted" in the menu View ?
