Portfolio View auto-minimized after price update

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby gmsimon » Tue Jun 18, 2013 9:18 am

It seems recently that after FM performs a price update (based on an automatic retrieve), FM then automatically minimizes the Portfolio Editor and I am left looking at the screen's desktop (or whatever happens to be underneath FM). I then have to maximize the Portfolio Editor to see it once again.

Is this new? Or something I might not have set properly? Not a huge deal but slightly irritating when one spends all day using FM.

Thanks.

Hi gmsimon,

Nothing has changed here recently. The window sizes/positions shouldn't change as a result of a price retrieve. The Portfolio Editor is actually a child window inside the main Fund Manager application window. Is the Portfolio Editor minimizing inside the FM window, or is the whole FM window minimizing? If you just do a regular price retrieve by pressing the PRC button on the toolbar, does this problem happen? Are you doing anything in some other application when this happens? Does it matter what other application you have open when this happens?
Thanks,
Mark

The whole FM window minimizes.

Tried the PRC button on the toolbar & it minimized. Reopened FM & tried it a second time & it did NOT minimize. Tried a third time & it also did NOT minimize! - it is erratic as to when it does it (also does not always minimize on auto-retrieve either - just sometimes). Other applications open at the same time include Excel, Outlook, and Google Chrome browser.

I will watch & see if I can spot any sort of pattern to this.
