Hi Rick,
You can record a sell when you open a short position, and a buy when you
close it. You can own a negative number of shares. FM won't report
capital gains for this situation though, this is something we plan to improve
on. Another way to record it, is to record a buy of negative shares, and
then a sell of negative shares. Either way will work.
