: : : I use OutlookExpress and Netscape Mail 3 and I can not find any reference to "Simple MAPI" in any of the configuration windows. The Alert by e-mail does not work without this set in your e-mail program. Am I missing something or do I need a new e-mail program??

: : FM has been tested with both Outlook Express and
: : Netscape (version 4.5). Either will work, here are the instructions, maybe I should add this to the online help...

: : Here are the instructions for setting up MAPI
: : in Outlook Express:

: : 1) Start Outlook Express
: : 2) Choose "Tools/Options..."
: : 3) On the "General" tab, turn on both options:
: : "Make Outlook Express my default e-mail program"
: : "Make Outlook Express my default Simple MAPI client"

: : Here are the instructions for setting up MAPI
: : in Netscape:

: : To establish Netscape Messenger as your default MAPI e-mail
: : client use "Edit/Preferences..." from within Messenger.
: : Under the "Mail & Groups" category, select the "Mail Server"
: : option. From there click on "More Options" and make sure
: : the option:

: : "Use Netscape Messenger from MAPI based Applications"

: : is turned on.

: : Thanks,

: For some reason these two buttons are grayed out and can not be set. I've looked all through the settings trying to turn them on but to no luck. any idea why this is?? Outlook Express is my default e-mail program and is ver. 5. I just looked on another computer with ver 4.0 and it is set up different than 5.0. I figured out that I set my mail program in IE 5.0 options, but there is not a setting for turning on simple MAPI. Can you recommend anything I might have missed or a fix for this.

Hi Bob,

I haven't tested it under OE5, but under OE4, you need to make Outlook your default email client in order for the MAPI option to be enabled.

Thanks,
Mark
