: : I backed up my 3.0 files and then loaded 4.0 to a new directory. Independent of this I had harddrive problems, backed up harddrive and had it wiped clean. I restored Fundmanager 4.0 and then pasted data from original backup into My Data folder. This has given me problems. I opened all of the individual data files, but have been unable to open portfolios. When I quit I get a message about unable to find path to each file. I still have backup data. Can I somehow start over and get a clean transition? I have copy of old data, old program and 4.0 (which I registered for via email last night). Can't function without Fundmanager.

: Scott,
: You need to use Notepad or some other text editor to manually edit your portfolio (.MM4) files. If you edit the files you will see the each of them has the .DAT file names inside, including the path to them. You indicated that you installed FM 4.0 to a new directory other than the 3.4 one you had been using. You also indicated that you pasted the files into the new 4.0 directory. Make sure that the portfolio files contain the correct path to the 4.0 directory.

: Jim

Hi Scott,
Jim is absolutely correct... Also, please
make sure that you "install" FM 4.0, don't just
copy the program files back into a directory.
The setup program creates information in the
registry used by FM.

Thanks,
Mark
