changing from mutual fund to stock

If i start a new issue, putting mutual fund by mistake, when I later try to change it to a stock, it continues to read as a mutual fund when i try to edit the transaction (e.g., the commission box is unavailable). is there a way to get it to read as a stock, and not a mutual fund, one it has been initiated, or do i have to delete the issue and start over again.
