How to "hide" an obsolete investment?

I must leave some of my investments open in order to get them to appear on the
capital gains reports, yet I really have no interest in retrieving updated
prices for these, or even displaying these investments anymore. What's the best way to handle this? Ideally, I would like to close (or hide)
an old investment, yet have it appear on the capital gains reports.
