I've left my CompuServe account and am now using the Internet price retrieval. Let me first say I think it's been very nicely done (I just discovered tonight the Yahoo historical retrieval to fill in vacation times). However, I'd like to see the ability to exclude particular investments from updating. I keep a full record of all the stocks I've owned (going back 12 years), so that FM can show a full record of my investing history. I really am not interested in knowing what the current price is for a stock I sold ten years ago; it may not even exist. If it does, the .DAT file just keeps growing; if it doesn't, the retrieve process is slowed down by a search for a non-existent symbol. (On CompuServe, this wasn't an issue because I specified to CS which quotes to get.) So, my suggestion for a future version would be a check box in, say, the Investment Properties screen, saying "Do not update price from Internet," or something like that. Obviously, if someone imports a price file for that specific investment, it would be used, but the automatic retrieval of prices would skip it if the box was checked. (This would probably always be used for the "default cash account," for instance.) The default, of course, would be to update. Thanks for your consideration.
